Dave Bruce – Chief Executive Officer

Have originally trained in Electrical and Electronic engineering in Aberdeen, our CEO, Dave Bruce is an experienced business leader with over 30 years’ experience working in technology for the Oil & Gas industry.  In 2016, Dave, joined Sword to lead the UK operations and has successfully grown this operation to €100M turnover delivering Business Technology Solutions into the Energy, Public and Financial sectors.

In May 2009, as part of the MBO team that created Amor Group in a £30M transaction, Dave was responsible for the design, development, and execution of Amor’s Energy business plan. Amor provided business technology solutions, professional services, and managed services to various sectors.

Prior to this, Dave has vast experience as an independent consultant for several operators providing technical delivery, through operations management to management of major projects.

Kev Moreton – Chief Operating Officer ​​​​​​​

As the Chief Operating Officer, Kevin’s key roles include representing group operations to the executive board, provision of functional leadership and being a senior point of escalation for customer issues or enquires.

With nearly 30 years’ experience in the Energy industry and 20 years in a managerial role, Kevin is an energetic individual driven to achieve results and provides our business unit directors with guidance, support and mentorship.

Craig Swinburn – Chief Commercial Officer ​​​​

Craig’s role in the leadership team is to help identify and win new opportunities with potential clients and partners within a sustainable and profitable framework.  By focussing on how we position our core offerings within our target markets, we can secure the continued growth of our business, while creating the next generation of strategic customers within Sword.

The Sales and Marketing teams play a crucial role in ensuring the effective promotion of our offerings, monitoring market trends and working with our businesses to continually refine our messaging.  Craig has always been an advocate of simplifying our offerings and our messaging to make them more accessible and ultimately easier for our customers to buy, if we continue to challenge ourselves to do this then we will continue our growth journey and create the opportunity to succeed in all areas of our business.

Greg Anderson – Chief Technology Officer

Our CTO, Greg, is great believer of technology having the ability to make a huge difference, if it’s used properly and aligned to well understood goals. Greg’s role ensures that we can make a difference for our customers by having relevant offerings which address well understood needs.

In his role Greg ensures we are listening carefully to how our customers’ needs are evolving, as well as maintaining productive relationships with our technology partners and most importantly, continue to develop our skills and capabilities in line with evolving technology.

Phil Brading – Chief Customer Engagement Officer ​​​​​​​

As our Chief Customer Engagement Office, Phil sets the standard for how we work with our customers, both when delivering work and during sales opportunities. Phil ensures we continuing building long standing partnerships with our customers, through which we can deliver new and exciting projects.

We do this by aligning work to customer goals, by continuing to prove our value, and by making sure our teams are empowered to deliver to their best ability. We need to listen carefully to what’s important to our customers and use their feedback to help shape our continual improvement.

Phil Norgate – Chief Financial Officer

As CFO Phil’s role is to set the financial governance for the group, to measure and track performance of the business on a monthly basis, to identify trends and propose actions based upon the underlying performance of the group.

As well as measuring the performance of the companies within the group, Phil is constantly on the look out for other companies with complementary service offerings and capabilities which we could acquire in order to create a stronger group offering.

Catherine Froud-Williams – Chief People Officer​​​​​​​

As our Chief People Officer, Catherine is passionate about representing our people at an Executive Level to ensure they are always at the centre of our business decisions.  Catherine leads and executes our People Strategy to ensure we have the right skills and talent to drive our growth ambitions.  I work closely with the industry to ensure we can anticipate and respond to trends to inform and set a clear direction for current and future people initiatives.

Catherine’s ambition and drive is to enable all our people to reach their full potential and recognise the true value they bring, through the provision of learning and development opportunities, deeper connection with our purpose and interesting work.  By empowering our people and creating opportunity to learn and develop from others, we ensure as a business we have the competencies and leadership qualities to deliver outstanding work for our customers, now and in the future.
